Holland Fisheries Event launches online exhibition news digest

The organisation of Holland Fisheries Event, looking at opportunities instead of impossibilities, has decided to present an online exhibition journal.

The biennial exhibition at Urk in the Netherlands had to be cancelled this year because of COVID-19. Instead, Holland Fisheries Event, together with its media partner Dutch trade magazine Visserijnieuws, will launch an online exhibition news reel on Friday morning October 2nd.

Latest innovations

Klaas-Jelle Koffeman, chairman of the organising foundation Visserijdagen Urk, is the anchorman of the exhibition journal. In the news digest he interviews the new mayor of Urk, Cees van den Bos, about the future of the sector. “Van den Bos, originally from the mussel sector in Zeeland, has a warm bond with the fishing sector and some interesting points of view,” Koffeman said, looking back on his interview with the mayor. Lourens de Boer, CEO of VCU Maritime, located in Urk, speaks about their latest innovation, robotisation on board. “It’s good to see that innovations are being developed time and again to improve the quality of fish processing on board.”

Premiere on Friday 2 October

During the premiere of the exhibition news digest, on Friday morning October 2nd at 10.00 am, there will be plenty of opportunity to ask the organisation questions about developments and novelties via the YouTube chat on the channel of Holland Fisheries Event 2020. The exhibition news reel is subtitled in English.

The next live exhibition edition of Holland Fisheries Event is scheduled for October 7 and 8, 2022.
